I dont see how you guys are getting these MPGs.. I drove from Dallas to the coast and back, and got 18.2 mpg.. this is cruise locked on ~75 the whole way.

Keep in mind the mpg I post is with the 93 superchips tune. If I cruise at 75mph I get about 20-21mpg. If I cruise at 65mph it is possible to get as high as like 23mpg. Honestly it depends on wind. Keep in mind too that I'm in florida which is completely flat.

I just started using 91 octane ethanol free fuel and although it's too early to tell, on my way home today the EVIC showed 24mpg the whole time I had the cruise set at like just over 70mph.

I would love a 5.7 deff going to upgrade someday but for now my 4.7 is working for my its better to have the power and not use it then to not have horsepower and need it.

I absolutely love my 4.7L. I have a friend with same truck but the 5.7 hemi and she sucks more gas when towing her horse trailer than I do pulling the same. No mods yet but looking into some quick cheap mods to start with

Stock, my 07 old 4.7 was great! I loved it..even hauling a moderate load on flat land wasnt bad...except the MPG's. Then I threw on the 35s and everything went to shit... It felt powerless, mpgs were really bad, and towing was a nightmare...had some overheating problems too. Fed up with it, I traded it in for my Cummins

Here's my old truck

I dont do 75, thats how I get it. Lock the cruise at 65-67 and thats the sweet spot for 4.7 mpg.

^ people would be amazed at the mpg they'd get if they'd just slow down 5-10mph. It makes a HUGE difference sometimes. My wife's aveo will get almost 40mpg at 65mph, it gets about 30mpg at 75-80mph.
