Angry Low end knocking/ticking

Anyone else experience the initial morning start up knock? Or the drive thru ticking against the building that is really embarrissing? So I start my truck in the morning only to hear a low end knock once it comes down off of high idle. Then once up to temp, I go through a drive thru and hear the annoying ticking that echoes off the building.

The louder ticking that goes away once its warm could be an exhaust leak.

As far as the warm ticking, these Hemis are pushrod engines and are prone to drivetrain noise, its just part of the nature of the beast.

You should here a big lift LSx, youd swear you had a sweatshop full of underage asian girls sewing dresses under the hood of your car. ITs annoying yes, some people have found different oils help quiet it down. Im a firm believer in MObil1 though. My headers made the ticking louder (long tube headers act as a megaphone for drivetrain noise) so i just put a bigger stereo in my truck to drown it out!

I have had the exhaust checked by the dealer as I too thought that should be the first place to look. All is well with the manifold connection as well as the y towards the rear. I have had the tourque converter replaced not long ago due to the groaning noise and a harsh shift, and now this!!

When I had cats on my camaro I had this noise as the converter was breaking/falling apart. Might crawl under and undo your i pipe and see if there is any crap in your exhaust

if not an exhaust leak what about the heat shield?

also was there not a TSB about the manifold bolts breaking and causing a tick in the hemi?
