Default Volant vs Current K&N FIBK

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could tell me if they thought that the volant cai http://volant.com/edetail.asp?ID=42, with the scoop http://www.volant.com/edetail.asp?ID=748 would give me better hp, tq, and mpg results than my current K&N cold air intake that has a heat shield setup vs the volant closed box w/ scoop for outside air. Thanks a lot guys.

I would get the volant ..its what I run except I didn't get the scoop I felt another $130 for a scoop was a joke...I just used some 3inch pvc tube an a 3 to 4 inch elbow. And made my own scoop...it made a big difference on the hwy ..

I had the Volant on my '99 with the 5.2L and I liked it. Not sure how it compares with the K&N except for the fact that the enclosed system will truly bring in cold air vs. sucking up hot engine compartment air.

Having the scoop on didn't make much difference in how that truck, or the Yukon, performed. At least, not around town. I suppose there was some ram air affect at highway speeds but not enough to make a difference.

I think the advantage is that these units do draw air from outside the engine compartment.

Volant is better than the K&N imo. I have used both, on the same motors lol... The volant showed much cooler air coming into the intake, i also wraped mine in heat wrap but thats just me wantting most out of the cold air intake compared to the normal piping! I noticed 1mpg diffrance in town over the k&n and only 5mpg HW but... I also noticed alot more acceleration
