Angry Lockpick CHR550 problems

So I went to go install my lockpick chr550 today and all went well until I went to use it. I'm having 3 problems with it.
1. The sound coming from my iPod and through the speakers in the truck is not working properly. Their is a large amount of bass coming from the front speakers by the dash to the point I'm concerned they might blow. This is only with media coming from my iPod.
2. I do not have page 7 in the menu which is the feature for satellite tv. It was my understanding the lockpick unlocked this feature, even though my truck did not come with it from factory.
3. The voice turn by turn navigation is extremely low, to the point I can't hear it over the air conditioning.

Everything else seems to be working fine. My radio is the 430n if that makes any difference. I appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Ps. I'm also noticing a little beep whenever I hit one of the buttons on the touchscreen. I didn't have the before. Any thoughts?

1.) I suggest you check to see what the sound settings are when you are in that mode. See if the bass is turned way up in that mode.

2.) The lockpick turns on the Sat TV functionality but it won't work unless you have the Sat TV subscription on your account. This feature was built in for those who had Sat TV from the factory... basically so they wouldn't lose it by installing the lockpick is my understanding of it. I don't have this feature so I can't test it.

3.) No idea since my radio doesn't have nav. I would say again to check the setup menus for volume settings since they may have been reset

The volume for the navigation is at the max and I can barely hear the turn by turn directions so not sure where else to turn the volume up for the navigation.

As for the sound from the iPod is the there a different menu for the sound settings for the sound coming from the iPod? When I play the normal radio, satellite radio, music of my hdd, or a cd it sounds just fine.

Does anyone know if the settings for the switches in the back of the lock pick chr550 need to be changed for the 430N radio? I left it the way it came out of the box, all of them down, and only 5 and 8 up.

Try checking the all the connections to make sure nothing is loose, if you get no improvement, remove it completely and try again. Then I would contact CoastalETech's support email or phone.

My switches are also set to have only 5 and 8 up, and it looks like you have the same setup.

I would check the pins in all the connections. My Lockpick harness had a couple bent pins (I have heard a couple people who have as well) and a small screwdriver fixes that pretty quick. At first, most of my stuff worked, but after I straightened a couple of pins out, all the features worked perfectly. They don't look bent at first glance, but take a close look. Some may be just off enough to cause a problem.

Thanks gingerbreadman. I'll make sure to check all the pins. I have a feeling that's what it might be. I noticed today also that the music playing from my iPod only plays on the right speakers in the truck. When I go to the audio settings and move everything to the left it's extremely low, like the navigation volume to the point I can't hear it over the air conditioning. I'm gonna check the pins ASAP, hopefully it's that simple.

Well, you were right. The culprit was bent pins. I've attached some photos showing the pins causing the problems. During all this I heard there was an update for the 430N radio so I downloaded and updated the software as well. I now have the travel link feature, which is pretty nifty I must say. Thanks for the help again!
Everyone intsalling a LockPick CHR550 make sure the pins are Straight!!

Yep, that's what my pins looked like. When I first installed it my backup camera was intermittent. I checked some forums and found the bent pins seem to be a problem so I checked. Sure enough, I saw my pins just like yours and straightens them out and it worked like a charm. Glad to see it worked out for you. Hope others can come across this too when they get their Lockpick cause they will probably find some bent pins.

How difficult was it to take apart your dash? I have the same setup (floor mount shift) and am planning on installing a lockpick that I had on my jeep. Also, was your dvd shut off at the dealer? So even in park it wouldnt work? And if this is the case, did the lockpick override this? Thanks

Taking the dash apart is actually really easy. I can take the whole dash off in probably 10 min now that I know how to do it. As for the DVD mine worked from dealer, but yes the lockpick now free's it up so you can watch DVD's at any time.
