Default Error after TB installation

This is really strange, after i installed the 90mm arrington tb i get following code:

P0507
Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected

I was looking around and saw it could be one of the following (or more) things:

  • A vacuum leak
  • Leaking air intake after the throttle body
  • EGR valve leaking vacuum
  • A faulty positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve
  • Damaged/failed/dirty throttle body
  • Failed EVAP system
  • Failed IAC (idle air controller) or faulty IAC circuit

Well i remounted now the third time the tb and im really sure everythings well installed, not leaking and NOT dirty.

Every time i installed or reinstalled it, i was disconnecting the battery for over 30 mins.

Does anyone has a clue why this could be?

could slap myself

i'm not sure but im pretty sure this was the point

seems like after cai install the tube to the iacv was buckled so of course he was getting more air as expected

didn't realized that somehow because the tube system doesent really match perfect with the engine cover, so i took the cover off now .

the code was never coming immediatly

Well the message comes back again


Noticed again a high idle rpm in "P/N" around 900-1000 rpm.


Anyone got an idea where to search further?

yeah but this didn't changed anything to the OBD msg - it's still coming.

Now i reinstalled my oem tb and see how it goes.


I heard something that with new tb has to be done a "relearn" procedure... but im not sure of that.


but im really sure i checked almost everything mechanical related to this part and the only logical solution for me would be:
- busted a sensor while mounting
- the truck doesent realizes really the new situation with maybe a bit more open tb-blade
- it doesent corrects well the new airflow situation

can't figure out something else, but i realized now the difference btw. stock and 90mm arrington - makes about 0,3 - 0,45 secs in the 0-60 mph run
response is also much better with the aftermarket.

a 90mm TB is fairly large for a stock engine. You might just be sucking in more air through the TB with it cracked open for normal operation.

I know a lot of cars when you increase TB size like that you get error codes like this.

well i tried the "old" one back and no more obd's


but someone told me a new tb should get through a "learnprocess" which can be made with a starSCAN tool, but as i found they're kinda expensive


3000-8000 bucks is kinda heavy for such a thing
