Just got off the phone with Volant and they do not make a CAI for my year, something about o2 sensor moved and tube in a routed in new location for that year.

Makes me sad, now if I just get my email from AirRam and I'll look at AFE in the mean time.

Default Texas CAI

Ok so I live in houston and when my truck was stock it did just fine the I went to the CAI for under a 100 method from the forum and I picked up a few MPG's but not much sound now I have a K&N CAI tha I got off CL for 20 buck and let me tell you the dang truck loves it even more that the DIY setup now my MPg's have gone down by 1-MPgs but I'm guessing A: its because it does get a little hotter air and B: I just can't keep my foot out of it since it sounds amazing.

To be honest go with what you like and is affordable in the end in TX it's hot as hadies so anything will help.

I'm running an AFE, works fine...and I'm in HOT Las Vegas....also put in a 180 degree thermo stat, and my guage never moves more than one bar above center, even when it's idleing and 109 outside...well below the hi temp mark

AFE doesn't make anything more then a half box replacement using the stock tube for my truck.... And I really want to replace that tube for a smoother airflow

I run a K&N drop-in filter with a modular intake tube from airaid on my '08. The main thing you want to get rid of is the resonator "hat". The Airaid unit takes care of that. I live in Dallas........or is it hell??? lol!

I'm in Houston and feel your pain about the heat. Had my truck for about 6 weeks now and just got my Volant last weekend. BIG difference in sound and gas mileage especially on the freeway. Can't keep my foot out of it so I will try to get an actual measurement on the next tank of gas but still getting a little better than what I was before the install. Sorry to hear they don't make it for your year because so far it seems to be a very good product. Good luck!

Its just a shame Volant doesn't make a CAI for my truck, per their support/tech team

I agree...... if they made one, it would be on my truck right now.

I live in houston bud, its been 106 around all week...we are about to break the most 100 degree plus days of summer record. Any how I have a k&n cai, and the truck likes it MUCH better than the stock set up...however I am looking to switch to a volant..b/c the volant is boxed in, and has the option for a scoop..anyways I would say any cai is better than the stock one. And in the winter/fall my truck really loves it! expecting even better results when I get my volant!
