Default Cortex or Predator?

Has anyone used the Cortex tuner? I see a fair amount on the Predator and nothing on the Cortex! My application is more for towing and would like to run it down the track sometimes! Can you change it up at the track simply?
Not sure which to buy???

The only difference is the 2 yr warranty, the 3865 has a one yr warranty. I've had a 3865 since 2009 for a 2002 Dakota but just recently put it in my 09 Ram because it's been tweaked and all of the bugs were ironed out. If RR2010 stays basic stock, no cam or serious upgrades, then I'd go with the 3865 because of their torque management capabilities that Diablo doesn't have. However, if you plan on serious upgrades down the road, I'd go with Diablo which allows for custom tunes for just about any application. Also SC is vin locked where as Diablo is not. In other words, you can tune two or more different vehicles at once with a Diablo and not with a SC. You have to completely remove the SC tune and return it to stock in order to use it on another vehicle. IMO, the SC 3865 would be a better choice because it improves your shift pressures and would be better for both towing and racing. They also have preset dummy tunes if you will for people...well for just that...for dumb asses, lol! It's very easy to use and with clear self expanitory instructions. SC for my choice because of the funky 75% torque management in these trucks and SC has the only cure!

thanks for the input...I see that Diablosport has a couple of models U7137 flash and the big $$$ Trinity! Is the big $ unit like worth it or would that be overkill?

The Diablo is vin locked just like the SC, so only one tune at a time. The Trinity doesn't have any different tuning capabilities than the predator, just the fancy display and realtime monitoring of PIDs

Sorry but the Trinity is not, that is one of it's signature features. It works with all vehicles grouped within the same part number. In other words, I can tune your truck with my tuner and do not have to unlock it or remove my tune...it is not vin locked like SC that I have. I like everything about Diablo, but they have nothing for torque management so I chose SC. EDIT: I just checked the Diablo site and it looks like I'm wrong, I think you do have to remove the old tune before you can tune another but it sure is missleading, so I stand corrected...sorry.

I thought you could not load a mpg/towing/performance tune on more than one vehicle though from what i understand. Sure you can have a tune loaded on your vehicle then go to another vehicle and do data logging/read and clear codes but i don't think you can just load a canned tune.

But if it does then that is def' a awesome "signature feature". It def' a sweet programmer all round though.

Trinity is VIN locked when you down load a tune to a vehicle.

I haven't tried this but it wouldn't surprise me if you could use the tool and GUI feature to monitor some PID's on another vehicle even though you can't load a tune.
