I go away for a few weeks and things get testy! Blackout, I have the same truck. I usually average around 15. This discussion comes up all the time. It's not your fault you didn't know that.
My standard answer to the question of MPG, is don't look. I set my onboard to DTE (distance to empty) that's all that really matters. I knew these trucks liked a gas before I bought it. I didn't buy for gas mileage.

Thanks Taggert, every forum there is always people who criticize and stuff and at least you understand that sometimes new comers dont always check the search option. I bought the truck knowing i was going to get bad mpg cause my dad has a rumble bee, but I was actually surprised with how much better mpg highway I get then him. Do you guys with the hemis run 89 or 93?

I almost always average about 17-18mpg every tank, that's like 90% + city driving. I can get up to about 22mpg on the highway if I drive easy.

Interesting thread. My wife and I just crossed the flat prairies, the old Canadian Shield (N Ont) and the flats of SW Ont. I zeroed everything out before starting on our 2400 mile trip (each way). For the first 840 miles the speedo never ever went north of 58/59 mph and I saw 21mpg in CDN numbers. For the last 1560 miles I kept the speedo to the same 58/59 except in the passing lanes (lots of campers/transport trucks) and my mileage at the end of the trip finished at 20 mpg CDN.

On the trip back I kept it under 60mph and in N Ont it was 55mph (speed limit) and I ended up with just under 20MPG CDN. Why did I travel so slowly, I was not in a hurry and on the way back I did not want to be pulled over and have the police find what I was hauling under the tonneau cover.

Now this 20mpg CDN equates to considerably less in USA mpg as our gallon conversion is larger in Canada. I would guess that in USA mpg's I might be getting 16ish maybe.

I do believe you can get 24 but for just a short stint before it starts falling off. How do I know, because I to was getting 24mpg CDN (20 USA mpg) for approximately 1/2 hr. Wow 24 seriously.

Blackout - calculate it manually, I am pretty sure you will see a BIG difference. If you manually calculate 24, call the Smithsonian!
