I have two friends with lifted 4wd auto trucks. One is chevy and one is gmc though. Both do some serious offroading. Neither of them have had any issues.

only the transfer case is different, Both systems are regular part time "4WD"
The front differential and CV shafts are ALL the exact same part#'s for both.

Its a simple electronic activated clutch inside the optional transfer case that engages the front drive shaft when rear wheel slip is detected when you're in 4WD Auto mode.

You Do realize the Rams with the optional 4WD Auto still have 4WD Lock (4Hi) right?
if the front differential was a totally different awd trans axle set up like an AWD car, then you would not still have a 4WD Lock option for the transfer case

The trucks with 4WD Auto "option" operate identical to the NVG 246 Transfecase without the 4WD Auto setting when using 4Hi/4Lo

I used spacers, had an alignment...still some low speed vibration...
note: my dealer didn't want to do the alignment on a lifted truck...only have 2.5 inch lift,
took it to "4 wheel parts", they did a great job

After reading several of these threads, it sounds like a lot of people that get the Bilstien 5100s end up with a wobble/vibration at low speeds, sub 15mph, in 4wd only, not in 2wd correct? It also sounds like no one knows the cause or fix for it and that not everyone has it? Doesn't that seem a bit odd to anyone?
