Check out "concealed weapons permit (any state)" and see the laws. You do have to have one in an auto, in any state. This is from the state of Florida.... "Automobile carry:
You may carry your weapon on you or in a “securely encased” state.
This is with a permit... I only know this crap because I have one, had to take a 40 hr course to learn the stupid laws and they did a federal background check on me and mine's good in every state but Illinois and Cali.. which don't honor any..
Sorry for the thread jack and the not so good news...

When I took my CWP class they told me (and we read it also) that there are a set of rules, like a couple things you have to satisfy to be able to transport a gun in your car. Like for example I do clearly remember the "secured case" part. Also I think it can't be loaded. And I think the last thing was that the ammunition has to be located in a different place than the gun. I'm not trying to say you're wrong or argue but why would they tell us this if it wasn't true? If that were the case the nobody could go shooting without a CWP and that is not correct...

Yes Sean, your right.. I thought we were talking about a loaded weapon. Unloaded and out of reach you can have almost any gun in your auto without the CWP. Anyway, we can discuss this further via PM if you like....

maybe we were and I got confused haha.

I really like that holster under the steering wheel, I can't think of a more convenient location. I like how some of the third gens have the second bin under the center seat and that's a perfect spot as well (I think that's where the "vault" shown earlier is located). I wish my 4th gen had that bin.
