With a 4" stroker crank a 318 bored .030 over yields 390 cubes. The 360 with 4" stroke yields 402, 406, and 408 depending on bore: stock 4.00, 4.020, 4.030". The 340 has a stock bore of 4.040", and yields 410". MP offers this combo in new 340 R3 blocks. A 340 taken .030 over with 4" stroke yield a 416. Keep in mind that stock Magnum heads support roughly 400hp. Both the 318 and 360 have nailed just over 400hp at 6,000rpms with same heads, intake, cam so you should consider this. A stroker would be a torque monster, but will max out the heads at slightly lower rpms. You can partially overcome this with forced induction, but unless you're going to pop for aftermarket heads or major work on the stockers (or a blower) you won't see much over 400hp, regardless of engine size.

So will I have to buy all of this off of this kit ( http://www.moparproshop.com/inc/sdetail/4383/4484 ) or just the crank then like Gen1dak said get aftermarket heads to make sure I'm safe or will I have to get this kit with pistons and ect.?for my 318?

Have to go full boat, pistons too. The longer stroke can cause piston skirt clearance issues with the stickers. Also, since the block will also have to be bored out, the pistons are bigger too. You get the idea. Doesn't hurt to have the stronger aftermarket jobs anyway since you're pushing for more HP. Also, with a stroker, you will need the longer rods in the kit. Mopar stockers are stout, but the added length is necessary and the added strength is absolutely vital in the stroker setup.

Agreed, there are cheaper ways, albeit with lesser displacements. A stroker crank with longer rods can be done. Don't overbore and the stock pistons can be retained. The piston skirt clearance should be checked. Still, stroker and budget seldom go together. The kits cost more, but the homework is done. Piece it together and it may cost you more in the long run.
