Question Power mods for 98 Dodge Ram1500 360, 5.9L

Hi,
i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 360 5.9l 4x4 V8 Magnum, just got her and i was wondering what i could do for some power gain.
Not looking to spend a fortune just want a little more power. I don't know a whole lot about performance parts. Anybody have ideas on what i should, or any part's you guy's are running that you might recommend?
Thanks for your help.

you can start with the basic three, a cold air intake (afe, k&n, volant) to name a few, then get a good flowing exhaust, then get a tuner, such a sct or super chips

A $600 chunk will get you the best fuel injection manifold ever made for a street-driven smallblock Mopar. Hughes sells the complete kit, and it includes the Edelbrock RPM AirGap intake with injector bungs. Major performance and forever eliminates that crappy belly pan gasket in the stock setup. Then get rid of that restrictive stock muffler.

Thanks for the reply guys..
I'm gonna start looking for intake now, what do you guys think of those duel intake systems?
So heads... what brand?
(long or short) i seen a writeup on the two and it wasn't that much of a diff, saying that long tubes put down only 8hp and 8tq. I guess its only worth it if your really putting down some power, cause you'll pay out for the extra fab work just to fit'em in.
Has anyone els here ran the Hughes Mopar intake maf, what kinda numbers are you putting down?
I hear the air gap's are a waste of money and do nothing.
I wanna punch out all the faulty problem's and at the same time be in the pros of building it.
Thanks again for all the input guys, all is needed.
glad i found the forumz at the start of my build

Okay, so iv really considered the Hughes Intake Maf. while I was on the phone with Hughes, I was going to just buy the Plenum Repair Kit and try the keg mod and call it a day. Well... They talked me out of it, why take 3 steps back (Go BIG or... go home)... Hughes Intake here i come. So while i have the Intake open, what next step would you guys suggest rocker's, headers, brands Ect...?
And i read somewhere that putting a air aid "air gap" on the kegger gave no results for gain unless it was a huge gap, but thats just hear say.

A couple of inexpensive mods that really wake up the 5.9 are a ported throttle body and a set of harland sharp 1.7 roller rockers. You will get good results with either one and if you put them both on you will get a very nice bump in performance.

I ported my throttle body and didn't notice that much difference on the seat-o-the-pants dyno. Just my 2 cents. At least it's a cheap mod
