For me, the next step is the cam, with matching valvesprings. More involved than a rocker swap, but greater gains as well. As you said, go big or go home.

When you ported it did you port it all the way through and install larger butterfly plates?

Thanks for confirming that "ORT. i was just looking into those roller rockers, it tricks that motor into thinking it has a slightly bigger cam from what i reed. Harland sharp make good one? Be for i drop the 600 on Hughes intake, i was wondering if anybody else is running or would suggest a high flowing intake?

I ran the Harland sharps on my 2nd gen and they gave me a noticeable bump in performance. Install was very easy.

I did not. The instructions I found at the time did not make mention of this. Interesting. I could see where you're coming from though.

The larger bore in the tb after porting is where you really see nice gains from.

Harland Sharp.... Inexpensive? They've been around since the 60's and make a solid product, but lo-buckin' in, get a 5.2 Magnum cam. It yields .432" gross lift with 1.6 rockers. A 5.9 has .410" lift with 1.6 rockers. Going to 1.7 ratio kicks it to .435". You can get a 5.2 Magnum cam for $30 at the local yard, or from someone who has upgraded. You'll save $300+ bucks and gross lift will only be different by .003 of an inch! Then if you still need more you can then go to 1.7's and add better valvesprings for the .459" lift you'd have.

Well my 2 cents again

These are some basic bolt ons that alot of peps start out with.

Fastman 52mm TB ---- $230.00
Cai - pick one ---- spectre $200.00
Harland sharp 1.7 RR $350.00
Good set headers I'm going Gibson shorty --- $410.00
Highflow exhaust-- your chioce (mine is a magnaflow) Ypipe cat, muffler $250.00 I instaled
Kegger mod ---DIY
Hughes plainum pan ( this kit comes with all gaskets for when you do kegger mod) $120.00
180 degree TS ---$15.00

These mods are all bolt on except for the kegger mod that is a little more indepth.
I have already done the kegger mod (not instaled yet) pick one up at a bone yard $50

There is NO Cheap way to get more power out of these motors also are you doing this yourself? Only other advice I could give is DO RESEARCH see what you want to do. As for money wise I am just starting my mods I have instaled a 3in lift kit from TGC $600.00 New tires 33in new rims $1,200.00 and the exhaust $250.00 as you can see I am already over $2,000 not including tools I have bought to do this. No matter how you cut it it is not cheap. Good Luck.

I know its been forever since i've updated but...
I ended up going with the M1 intake MAF, Detroit TruTrack some Pacesetter shorties to a full true duel and HemiFevers SCT tuner (CAN TUNE) back around early 2012, felt like i lost some Tq/Hp even with the tuner until i recently replaced the stock intake with the K&N CAI she felt like a new truck, finally feels like its all tieing together.

Now I'm ready to move forward just don't know what should be my next step. ring & pinion (4.56 or 4.88) are worn, save for new head's rebuild the top end forced induction?
Theres just so much out there!

Any pointer?

have you replaced the cat and o2 sensor? most people tend to notice a big difference when they replaced those after fixing there leaky plenum gasket. ntk is the oem brand o2 sensor used. may also want to possibly replace the pcv valve with a brand new one from the dealer and install a water/oil separator to prevent any oil from getting were it is not wanted.
