Default 08 Ram 1500 4 speaker system to 7 speaker

Is it possible? Is it worth it? Or just give up the idea and move on to others.

I'm sure it's possible. You could put as many speakers as you wanted in.

Not sure what the question is. Are you asking if you could just add speakers to the factory stereo? Probably not. You'd need to add aftermarket amps.

at this time I don't want to add the speakers tot the crappy factory radio, just want to get the speaker placements in a factory looking setup. Then I'll get a amp and new head unit.

If you are going for good sounding music, forget a center channel speaker in the dash. Just go with a good set of component speakers for the front stage (I have 2-ways in the truck - dash & front doors) and I used a decent set of 6X9's in the rear doors which are driven off the head unit. All in the stock locations.

With a good 4 channel amp, a Line Out Converter with some sort of summing device, a PacAudio harness to integrate the new amp, some good component speakers and adding an amp/sub for the rear; the difference in the sound is amazing.

Maddog, thats prolly the route I will go. I been talking to Chithead behind the scene and came up with a outside the box idea.

oh oh...watch out for Chithead...he changes audio systems as often as he changes his underwear...weekly! And that can be costly for ya.

He and Jared (dodgeman70592) are the ones that got me started. Both the Ram and the SRT now have upgraded audio systems in them!

However, having said all that, I must say I thoroughly enjoy the better performance. Problem is, due to their influences, I can't stop fiddling with the damn systems!!!! LOL

Heh, well I am just waiting for Mr Chithead to lookup some specs then we will start talking about componets.. I still wondering how much it is all going to cost me.
