DRL stands for daytime running lights. they are constantly on when your vehicle is on. if i was you, i would wire them into these if your truck has them. if they dont, i would wire them into the parking lights.

Hey Guys,

I have the same problem with my cargo lights. It seems like they are dimly lit when my headlights are on or have been on and they are very noticeable while driving at night... anyone know why and/or how to fix. i don't really want to get a ticket for this.

thanks

Check out the LED fix sticky. It's a simple resistor fix

i just replaced my interior lights. they are freaking sweet. i cant get a picture right now, but ill try.
i used WLED-xHP10-DAC for the dome light. i was a little worried that it wouldnt work since leds are directional, but i pluged it in and it worked with no alterations.
i used WLED-xHP15-T for the map lights. it was simple. i did have to move one of them in order to get it to light because of the direction, but it was really easy. all in all i think it took about 10-15 minuites.

if anybody has a 1998-2001 ram and they want to get the biggest led replacement that has a different color, i reccomend getting these. they are the absolute biggest that will fit and still be in a different color. the map light replacements are the same size as the actual bulbs, but the dome light replacement is bigger than the actual bulb. the total cost was about $50 and it was totally worth it.

these are so freaking sweet. i can see better than i could with my oem lights. it is bright useable light that is also blue.

...next comes the window controls to blue. i ordered the 5 3mm leds necessary to replace the green leds in the controls. now they just have to get here.

...and so begins the wait.

SS4luckkyy.. quick question.. if I put reverse LEDs in my 09 (so 921 bulb) will they stay lit all the time with a very dim light like my LED 921 in the cargo spot do ?

If you solder a 100 Ohm 1watt resister to one of your LED cargo bulbs they will shut off when not in use, (check out the sticky there is even a pic with the resister soldered on). As for the reverse bulbs, my LEDs are only on when in reverse. Hope this helps you out.

Cheers!

Exactly. The 100 Ohm 1 Watt resistor takes care of the "glowing" cargo lamps, but your reverse lights only come on when you put the truck into reverse. I got a handful of warnings over the blue glowing cargo's, pretty sure I would have got a ticket of blue glowing reverse lights

Yup... the police frown on blue plate lights......Got stopped by the OPP and he gave me a warning one morning on the way to work. Atleast he didn't give me a ticket. In Ontario your plate lights can only be WHITE....Shoulda looked into it a bit more.

Verify that the bulb for reverse goes in from the back. My 2012 has the reverse light coming in from the bottom. So the 921 might be correct but if it does not come from the back you will need a different tupe bulb that will use the reflector.

I think the testing has show a 194 tower style bulb will work better for the 2012s because it actually shines light into the reflector as well
