I had the Volant in my truck and its not as bad as everyone says. It fits fine but the opening doesn't sit completely flush with the fender foam. I'm still buying one. Its sealed and has a great filter and intake tube

It appears that the stock air box on my 2011 has sufficient air flow with no restrictions. So I'm just gonna go with a K&N replacement filter. I would like to replace the tube with a smooth one. Does someone just sell an upgraded tube?

I have had my Volant for a couple of weeks now and it is a definite improvement over the stock. Biggest difference I have noticed is on the freeway. Truck doesn't struggle as much going up "hills" or overpasses. With the stock it would almost always down shift to maintain speed and that is no longer the case. Gas mileage is slightly better but can't share a tank average that would be fair because now I can't keep my foot out of it at the lights. I guess me driving it harder and getting a 1/2 mpg better says a little. I will try to behave and report back. Looking forward to a programmer! Oh, and fitment is fine. Like stated before, it doesn't match up perfectly but it's not off but much.

Where did you get that information?
the 3G Volant looks nothing like the new 4G version.

03-08 3G Hemi Volant part #16857

09-12 4G Hemi Volant part #160576

I've used an Airaid for over a year,
but picked up a new Volant on ebay for $315 last week.

Partly because I like their sealed design better, and their power-core filter.
The filter box and tube both have a better angle/alignment toward the fender opening and a nice arc on the smooth tube.

It also has an optional lower port you can use for an extra air inlet.
You can make your own lower tube and route it to an opening in your lower bumper grill
... or wait until November when they release the lower Ram Air Tube

Here's a list of models they already have Ram air tubes for:
http://www.volant.com/scoops.asp

It will likely look similar to this (Chevy 6.2L Silverado) version

I was gonna suggest that you check out the AEM Brute Force as it's very similar to the MOPAR

I just received my Volant CAI in the mail and will be installing it this weekend. So from what I'm reading it doesn't fit flush. Has anyone used extra foam or something similar to complete the seal? If so, any suggestions on what was used or to use to do this?
