I would look into a superchips tuner, probably the best bang for your bucks performance wise.

^what he said. I have the superchips 3865 flashpaq, 50hp and 55 ft lbs. Can't beat that for a few hundred $$. Next would be intake, exhaust....after that, gearing maybe, torque converter....all depends how far you want to go.

programmer not chip difference. w/ my superchips on 89 performance I gain about .5 mpgs some people see better results all depends on your other mods how you drive etc. I promise you'll be happy w/ a good programmer like superchips power wise though usually the most bang for your buck mod

Yeah programmers are way better than chips, programmers actually change the programming of the computer, chips are usually some sort of device that "tricks" one or several of the computers sensors, and it usually does not safely increase power output. On my 93 perf tune with superchips I picked up at a minimum 1 mpg, probably more but I'd rather give a conservative number. The increase in power is unbelievable. Also, it drastically improves transmission shifting, throttle response, etc... The superchips for the 08+ 4.7L has the highest added hp and tq of any gas tuner I've seen. It is also safe, easy (takes about 15-20 minutes to tune), and can be tuned back to stock in another 15-20 minutes. It also allows you to adjust for different tire sizes, gearing, electric fan settings, shift points, and has data logging options as well....

Diablo sport makes a similar product called the predator, the advantage over the superchips with this is you can do a little more custom tuning. The disadvantage is I don't think you get quite as much hp and tq on the 4.7L with the dsp as you do the superchips. Also I believe the superchips has more trans options.

I replaced the stock muffler with a 12 in magnaflow. Sounds awesome. Performance? maybe not so much.
Then I threw on an Airaide (sp?) intake. Was actually a little loud for my taste, so I ended up using just the intake tube portion of it. With the full intake and the open filter, it would rev and scream like a SOB when I floored it. Even when I didn't gun it and just give it more throttle to pass I felt like it would downshift and rev too high too often. Like just trying to pass or on a slight incline. Now with just the tube, it seems to rev a little smoother.
With the intake and muffler it sounds great, but I doubt I'm breaking any speed records. I agree with the other guys. Go with the programmer. It's next on my list.

What the best place and best price you guys are finding on the super chip tuner? Are most going with the flashpaq or the cortex?

I bought mine direct, if I remember correctly it was $360 shipped. I bought direct since they are local for me. I think I've seen some buying them other places for closer to $300, don't know if that was before or after shipping.

As far as I know the flashpaq and the cortex are literally identical, except for two things: 1) the tuner is grey not red and 2)the cortex comes with a 2 yr powertrain warranty. So you're paying for the powertrain warranty.

They also offer the vivid which is new, I think it offers touch screen and android connection....more like the diablo trinity and bully dog screens.
