I dont disagree with your claim AT ALL!
for the avg lifter on this site, who only do the other mud and mainly drive around in a lifted truck. 3.92's more than suffice.
For you and you and your buddies? Heck no.
I dont even mud (cause its 3 hours away in either direction) hate it cause I like power and performance.

Dont tempt me man! It has crossed my mind many, many, many times.....especially when these lowered guys are getting 20-22 mpg

But for me? I will try these 35's during the winter and see how I like it.
As you know and based of your gear charts, 4.56 and 35's is far higher in the powerband than an RT with 4.10's

So if I can have a lifted truck (not monstrous) and performance, I will be a happy camper.
I dont think I/we can go lower than 35's otherwise our gas would suck either way with our gears.

If I find the gap too large, I still got Bilsteins to play with as Im at 1.4

If yur truck never sees anything other than pavement, it might suffice I would think even city driving would suck tho

Umm 35s and 4.56s give you a 4.30 ratio.....

Yessir I see my bilstiens coming down here soon, which everyone knows Im not a fan of them anyhow

I'm talking to a guy about a 2000 XJ 4 door sport that's charcoal for some pocket change. Definately 8" long arm, bumpers, 5.38s locked f/r via ARB and some 37" boggers. Thats what Im thinking

Man that thing would be a monster. if you pull the trigger on it, check out rustys offroad. there 30 min from my house (AL) and only build jeep parts. lifts, bumpers, EVERYTHING! They are a popular brand. And as for the tires, those m16 are ALL TERRAINS cmon! If they had 37x13.5 Pitbull rockers in a radial....that would be my tire of choice!

Its just for a hobby. Use it for Hunting, camping and beating on! Would do a TJ, but with one on the way and a pair of Shepherds it woulda been a tight fit!

Still not sure what to do with the Ram. We're still gonna do a new family ride tho, hence why im confused with the Ram.

Im reading reviews on these ssr's and there gettin high praise. do you think id be all right with no after market uca's or ball joints for a little while with no off roading at all? If i were to have 38's...in your opinion what should i do from first to last cuz i cant do it all at the same time! ex, ucas first, ball joints 2nd, gears. i know gears are not truly NEEDED but i would want them for the power.

XJ is like an older Cherokee. Looks good.
If that's your toy, drop the truck a few inches and make it more 'street friendly'

The SSR's have been AWESOME and still pull like a mofo

I would go gears, cvs, ucas (they include balljoints) then tie rods when some more come out. Bsically backwards of your plan
