Default Who makes a decent CAI for a 4th Gen 4.7L???

I'm looking for a CAI for my 4.7 and I'm hoping to god I get a few MPG's out of it if not a little more power while I'm at it. I really do like my truck and what it is, but a bit more always helps. I don't really see a lot of intakes or aftermarket for anything but the Hemi but at the time I couldn't really afford it so I want to see what I can get for the 4.7. I've used the K&N FIPK on multiple cars and have had good luck with it. I've seen a lot of Air Raid intakes on here and people are happy with them. Volant isn't making one for the 4th gen 4.7 yet so thats out but I wanted to see what you guys with the smaller engines are doing. Thanks in advance.

The 4th gen Rams already have a pretty decent intake system, but the filter is rather restrictive. A K&N drop in has shown great results for many 4th gen owners.

Is the drop-in the same as the hemi or is it a separate one. How much was yours and where did you get it? I have the 4.7 so I want to make sure I get the right one.

Looks like the part number is the same so I decided on a drop-in for now. I'll give it a shot and see if there is any difference in MPG's.

I owned a 04 RCSB 4.7L RAM with and intake and Magnaflow prior to getting my 2011 Hemi. I can tell you that the 4.7L has a great rumble to it. I see in your sig that you have an exhaust and it's a Magnaflow. If I were you I would get an intake for sound alone! lol

The intake really brings out the rumble for the 4.7L......

I already ordered the K&N drop-in for it. We'll see if I get any gains through that. I would like to change the flex tube to the intake, but I don't think it will happen. I'm trying to leave this as stock as I can because of warranty issues. When its paid off I'll go a little more wild with things.

Well I got it on last night but only got to drive home from where it was shipped. No time to get on it or see much about it. Anybody able to say what side of the power I'll see the most gains, top, mid, bottom??? I'm darn near ready for some 4.56 gears to get some low end!

The greatest gains will be realized at the top. Under minimal air requirement, the restriction of the OEM is hardly an issue, but as the air requirement increases, so does the effect of the restriction. The greatest benefit from a CAI is in power at the top, as the more and the colder the air you can get in, the more fuel the computer will allow which translate to more power and torque at the top.

Look at this thread, it has a ton of info about CAI. There is about 28 pages of good info.
