It's been so long since I've posted here, I haven't done much to the truck but I did swap all the slip connections on the exhaust with ball/socket connections and they seal almost perfect. Except one of them was manufactured poorly and doesn't seal that great(although way better than the lap joints). It's fine, no more code, but just an annoying little tick. I'll buy another ball/socket joint at some point and cut the leaking one out and weld the new one in.

I've also run it through an auto car wash (YIKES, I know!) 2 or 3 times in the past 6 months because I haven't had time to wash it. TIP IF YOU DO THIS: Remove the antenna and fold the mirrors in LMAO. I found out the hard way the first time through.

I'm within 1k miles of 100,000 miles on the odometer and I think in the next couple months I'll be changing the exhaust bank spark plugs, the shocks, doing another pan drop trans service, and probably have the dealer do a coolant flush.

As far as mods, I think I might remove the ram emblems on the doors, plasdi dip the antenna base and the end caps to my step boards which are all faded plastic, and that's about it. I'm pretty damn happy with the truck all in all and there's not really much else I want to do that's reasonable in terms of time and money. If I ever find that set of new 17" oem wheels on the newer rams for a fair price I'd love to grab them with a small wheel spacer. Plasti dip them black and put a nice street tread on there.

The only other thing I've been doing is diagnosing the broken rear door lock. Finally(after 2+ years) found that it's the lock actuator so ordered a new one from napa.

I moved to Gulfport, MS about 6 weeks ago and we are buying a new house here, it doesn't have a garage, it has a car port. But that's ok, it has a 1200 SF workshop!!! I'm excited lol.

Hey man. Checking in to see if you're still running those Hunter 4x4 side steps? I stumbled on a thread from a while back and saw you put them on. Just curious how they're holding up after a couple years? I found them on ebay and I think I'm going to order a set. Just wanted to see how they've been holding up after being on a little while. Thanks.

Hey man yeah they are great. I've had them on for a few years now I think and the only thing "bad" is the plastic end caps have faded greyish like most black plastic does on a car from sun uv rays. Nothing plastidip won't fix. And I landed one side on a concrete curb which bent the brackets up so now it's a little closer to the cab lol. I'm actually thinking about removing mine...not that I don't like them, just would like more ground clearance(my truck is lowered).

There is a copper sealant that you could use for that, it's usually near the other silicone sealants at the auto parts store. Or just find a redneck that can weld and offer him a six pack.

Well I could weld it shut myself but the whole point of me putting these joints in was so it would be removable in pieces. The sealant is an option but preferably I can do without.

I'll be buying a 2 post lift soon, hopefully this year, so that should help a lot with diagnosing where the leak is...
