I actually had the suspicion that the dealer I went to, didn't actually do the tie rod replacement. (sorry I just don't trust them )

The truck drives exactly the way it did before and when I went in for the oil change and tire rotation, I asked about the recall, they said they only fix the ones that are really bad, and if yours isn't bad, we will order the parts and schedule another appoinment to change them. I said fine, they said they would call if they needed to be done. I got no call so I went and picked the truck up at the end of the day and the invoice said the recall was completed, I asked the service guy, and he said yup we changed yours.

Honestly nothing looks new under the front suspension, anybody got pictures of a new outer tie rod to compare this too? I would like to confront them on this if they didn't actually do it, but now sure how to go about it

Reason I don't trust them - $95.00 with tax for an oil change and tire rotation

I asked my dealer about the L04 and they said it wasn't showing up on their system, but that I had an L14- HVAC module that had been flagged. Took them about 30 minutes to work it and they said they would keep an eye out for the tie rod notice.

It looks like we all have pretty much the same truck with the L04 recall, but I can't do much if it doesn't show up in their system. Anyone know for sure whether or not it's supposed to be for all 2010 SLT's and similar? You may want to inqire abut the L14 recall too, I didn't get notified by mail about it. They only told me about it after I asked.

If your truck was shipped to and sold in Georgia it isnt included. The damage is caused by water ingress and then freezing as I understand it.

My tie rod ends were replaced, they told my they did an alignment but I doubt it because they don't have the equipment at their shop - unless they sent it out. (Also had them put in the tail gate lock actuator)

I did notice a difference in handling over bumps. I'm not getting the jump on bumps on the interstate anymore, but this could be for two reasons. My truck's not a year old yet, but I have 68k miles on it. I just replaced original tires (not worn out but cupped really bad) with a set of original size Coopers. These are great, by the way. I can now actually hear my MagnaFlow exhaust over the tire noise! My advise is to get rid of the crappy Goodyear stock tires as soon as you can. It's like I have a new truck now, and I had the same experience with my last two chevy trucks and Goodyear tires.

I'm not sure if it was the tie rod ends, the tires, or a combination of the two, but I suspect the tie rod ends helped the jump over bumps. My 09 silverado (same 4dr./4wd combo) did the same thing, but worse. After the recall, the jumping around over bumps is very minimal.

On a side note, I usually buy a new company truck every year due to the amount of miles I drive, but I'll be keeping this one another year (even though I don't have to) - a testament to how much I like my Dodge...

Here is my long term review, driving 70k - 80k miles per year:

Problems with 08 Chevy - Too many to list
Problems with 09 Chevy - Why did I buy another one?
Problems with 10 Ram - Why didn't I buy one of these before?

And just so you know, I'm not brand loyal (except for it has to be American). My wife drives an 05 Yukon and we both love it, not to mention there is a local GM truck plant that supports a lot of the local economy, which is why I tried to stick with a chevy truck before.

When I first saw this thread, I was wondering why I never got a recall letter.
So, I phoned the 800 number and gave them my VIN. They said " There's no recalls on my truck and not to worry if there are any in the future we will contact you"
