dkerr24, truly interesting about that flash drive issue. However I am glad to hear that you have it working now. Thanks for the update to the update.

I plugged it into the USB port in the glovebox and let the update run on the radio, and sure enough, the uConnect voice commands are now working. And my iPod Touch 4 works connected to the radio as well ! Takes about 2-3 mins of 'reading' to see the songs on it when I first connect it, but hey that's good enough for me.

So, if anyone is having problems with the firmware update, perhaps using a older/slower USB drive may do the trick.

Got the radio/nav/sirius update disc in the mail the other day so knocked that out today. Tried my iphone 4s. It would pair fine, but the streaming audio was no good. So I did the uconnect update and now it works great. Didn't try plugging it into the USB port since I didn't have my cable handy but streaming audio works awesome! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread!

Having a new issue with this. I downloaded the update on two different flash drives, because when I go to my truck, plug in the thumb drive and hit the phone button the voice says 'please plug in mass storage device with update and try again'. For some reason it isnt seeing that either USB device has the update on it...I have deleted all other info on the drives, anyone have any ideas?

have you tried formatting the flash drives with FAT or FAT32?

Just did that and it fixed it. Forgot that I had a mac and things would be screwy. Thanks!

I know this has been probably answered before, but does this update enable the Traffic Link as well? If so where can I read up on how to use it.

hello SS6,
Glad you got it to work, I also just got your PM. This update does not do anything for the travel link. that would be a Sirius update. What SW version do you have on the radio?

XSDBS

Have an interesting problem/history. 2011 Ram Big horn, 430N. uconnect module SW 63.01.23; HW 14.00 Part # 05064735AK

Ipod worked for a while, then one day just stopped. it would "read" and "connect" but would not "play". Would hit the pause button, then play button, but nothing would advance ( older generation Ipod Nano)

took it to dealership and asked to update all the software. Now the unit will not even read the ipod. I think i have the radio SW becuase i do have the sirius travel link.

I tried to download the file from the link but Mediafire said no link or file found.

any help is appreciated.

Hmm, well the first thing I would have asked you to do is to reset the iPod. There are different methods of doing this depending on the iPod. Apple has info on this,
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
2) The "AK" module is the most current SW version for your vehicle, so the update would not apply. If the dealer told you that they performed an update, I would have to question it and ask for the update TSB # that the applied.
3) It is possible that they updated the radio SW.
4) Now, I would ask you to go ahead and try to reset the iPod according to the Apple site and then try it again. Also you may have a bad cable, if you have a different cable, also please try it.
Let us know what happens

Who thought you'd need to know what a FAT 32 file system is in order to own a Ram Truck. I really hope Chrysler cuts the chains on Ram and lets the big dog loose. It's like swimming with an anchor on both arms.

It's just the format that The Uconnect supplier uses for their update.
