Hey leadfootluke I appreciate all the help you gave me, but I never really got a response of what you think of the nu finish product? Just wondering since I already used it...
I've never used it. It is rather oldschool and does not work as well as newer products, but from what I have heard first hand, it still works fine.

They do. Autogeek will push their products, such as DP, Pinnacle, and Wolfgang, but they provide an infinite amount of information on all of their products. But still, if you want answers, go to Autopia.org

I was also wondering opinions on this same topic, I think Meguairs is overrated so I think I'll try a few of the other brands listed.

It's a consumer paste wax, so you can expect around 1 month of durability assuming you wash it weekly and drive it. The reason more professional waxes cost more isn't only because of the durability, but the ease of use. Sealants for example, like Blackfire wet diamond, Menzerna Powerseal, Wolfgang Deep Pain Sealant, Opti-Seal, and Ultima Paint Guard Plus, can be applied and remove with using almost no pressure on the paint. Waxes are a bit more tough, but they harden in a unique way as well.

Meguiars *is* arguably the best detailing supplies company. What 99% of people experience is their consumer line, which does well, but nothing compared to their professional products. Meguiars, however, does not have a great wax/sealant. Even their professional/detailing line doesn't have a choice product for that.

The best way to clay bar? Let the clay sit in warm water and get soft. Use plenty of lubrication, and move in 1 direction on a 1'x1' or 2'x2' portion of the paint and then go in the opposite direction. Make sure the paint is clean when you start, and when you finish a section, wipe it dry with a microfiber cloth and move on. When you're done claying, wash the car once more to remove any residue. If you want to use a sealant, use it before the wax. The polymers in sealant bond to paint, not wax. THEN you can apply the wax, over the sealant. I would not use a sealant with 915, as 915 is very durable by itself. I would with Megs Ultimate though, because it will not last as long as 915.

Agreed. Get a GOOD wax. Even getting a great wax like Collinite 845 cost about $15 and yields about 20 applications if done right. I don't believe the everyday consumer needs a wax that costs more than $40 a bottle or can, because you can get some of the *best* for that.

I use the Zanio Z-2 on my truck as a base and then use Collinite 845 over it. The Zanio gives me the longer protection(app. 6 months) and the Collinite gives me the deeper gloss however in does not last as long as the Zanio. I tried to use the Collinite 915 over the Zanio and really had problems with it. Probably my problem and not the wax but I find that the 845 works much better and it's eaiser to use IMHO.
