Default no tail lights or guage lights

hey guys kinda in a jam here was driving last night and noticed out of no ware the guge cluster lost the lights the odomiter still works as do the waring lights. opp pulled me over to let me know i had no tail lights either and explaned to him what was going on any one have any idea whats going on i have checked fuses and have not found one burnt out for the cluster or tail lights. are thes on the same curcit or related in any way. thanks ahead

Tailights are typically on the same circuit as instrument lights, that way you know immediately that you have a problem back there. I would suggest you use a multimeter to check your fuses, I can't remember if theres any fuses under the hood concerning this circuit or not. It would be unusual indeed to have anything else involved here beside a fuse. As an emergency measure, I have seen many people over the years run at night with hazards flashing. What would cause a problem with shorting out the circuit? more likely than not, a trailer connector.

Headlight switches are known to overheat and melt the connectors which causes a loss of contact at the connection itself.

where would i find the procedure for replacing the headlight switch, I am having the same problem with my 99 B3500 van. I have found that if push the switch in and out and generally just mess with it sooner or later the instrument cluster will go off as well as the rear lights.
