Default Key stuck in the ignition

Well today after getting home I shut the truck off and the key would not come out of the ignition. I went inside because mother nature was calling me with a megaphone and when I came back out later I fiddled with it and finally got it to come out. At first I checked to make sure that I had it all the way in park, started it and shut it off again, and after a few tries it went to the off position where I could remove the key.
I understand that there is something about the key getting locked into the ignition if there is a low battery or something like that, but I don't believe that was the situation. Anyone ever have this happen to them? I don't like the idea of leaving the key in the ignition until I can get it to the dealer if it happens again.

Can't say that i've ever had this problem. Not much you can do until it happens again i guess.

I've never had mine stick but WTF are the spare keys for? They can only open the doors right? I don't see a space for a regular key to start the Ram. What the heck good is a door only key?

It's in case the battery dies, so you can still get into the truck. Also for the tailgate lock. You can actually start the truck without inserting the keyfob into the slot, it uses a "chip" and senses it once it's close. You can use your finger to turn the keyfob slot thing to start it.

Hi Guys

My wife had this issue with her FOB today. Whatever we tried the FOB would not come out. The truck would start fine etc did not look like the battery was low or anything I was stumped. My FOB works ok.......but she's been complaining that her FOB has been acting up (not locking the doors etc etc)

I went to check under the hood after 10min of goofin around went and tried again and it came out

Anyone have any clues to whats goin on....this truck is less than a year old? Should I take to dealer and let them have a look at it?

Like some input before I do anything
