I don't in your case think yhat you need to screw around with your trans sensor, seeing as you actually have a reverse light that works as commanded, I do however believe that you have a grounding issue. these are ugly ones to shoot down. Have you got voltage issues at the trailer plug? pull it out of the harness and see what you've got, you can always reconnect it, but get some antioxidant grease for it's connection points before you reconnect it. if someone didn't use the 30 dollar inline adapter to wire up the trailer plug, and simply hacked into the harness without solder and heatshrink, I'd suspect problems... Wish I was certain how the ground works, on these units, but they can be a real circle j@rk on GM products to troubleshoot, I havent had the pleasure on these Dodges of mine - yet...

Turns out that the issue was with the splice connection with the ground wires in it that was mounted on the driver's side rear frame rail.
