I'm willing to bet it changes from 0v to 12v (switch on or off), and if it does, the problem is the ground trigger to the relay from the light switch, which could be either the ground to the switch, the switch itself, or the connection from the switch to the relay.

This circuit of the light switch is on a 2 wire connector with -
Black/Orange wire - this ties to ground (Should always test 0v)
Brown/Yellow wire - this connects to relay pin 1 (85), and switches to ground when the fog lights are turned on. (Should test as 12v with fogs off, and 0v with fogs on)

I guess the prudent check is to see if this connector is even plugged into the light switch.
Sure enough, with the relay in place the voltage read 12v on pin #1/85. I removed the relay and voltage was at 0.

Is there a way I can "jump" the relay to make it think it's being controlled by the switch? Like take a wire and run it across two points on the relay or something to that nature? I remember having issues with a past car of mine where the cooling fans wouldn't engage and I read about tricking the relay. It worked, but the fans would run anytime the key was on. I just don't remember that procedure for sure.

Now we're getting somewhere.
From what I can determine so far, the relay and all circuitry past it is likely fine, so we have narrowed the issue down to the control switch and associated wiring.

On the light switch, there should be 2 connectors. One has a bunch of wires....the one of interest has only 2 wires.

Check the voltage on the Brown/yellow wire at the switch. It should be 12v with the fogs off, and 0v with the fogs on.

Then check the Black/Orange wire. It should be 0v at all times.

I was actually stuck at work yesterday, but I plan to tear the bezel off and pull that switch out to test it. I'll post my readings as soon as I have them.

Thanks for checking in. Thanks to your help, I'm determined to figure this out.

I share your determination. I figure we're very close to having working fogs on your truck.

Update: Pulled the switch out and tested the voltages at those two wires. The brown/yellow wire had 12v with the switch OFF and also had 12v with the switch ON.

The black/orange wire was at 0v with switch ON or OFF.

Thank ya.

Theoretically, if you jumper from the Black/Orange to the Brown/Yellow, the fogs will light and confirm that the switch is defective.

You are absolutely correct. Jumped the two wires and for the first time I heard the relay click on. Jumped out of the truck and was happy to see that both fog lights were burning bright.

Good work brad12kx. I really appreciate the help ya gave me.

Next step....new switch!

At least you know that the 'system' and wiring are OK. A switch is a lot easier to replace then tracking down and fixing a broken wire somewhere in a harness.

Very true, thanks for walking me through it. I'm not out of the dark yet though. I still need to figure out my taillight/turn signal/reverse light issue. Apparently it's a ground problem somewhere. Wiring hates me.
