Great writeup. I like using the gasket also vs RTV. Saves me scraping, I've had no leak issues using gaskets.
Yeah, I like gaskets as they save you on the next service, like you said less scraping. I have to admit though I find that they ALWAYS leak, it's just a matter of at how many miles. RTV definitely seals better.

Yes criss cross pattern. 105 in lb (8.75 ft lb).....if you don't have a torque wrench that's roughly snug plus a turn. Basically you want to tighten until the gasket stops crushing/squishing(if you're using the gasket). You don't need to crank them down, plus you can always give them another turn later on if need be. The main thing is to get them snug plus some and get them all evenly tight. Aluminum strips easier than steel that's why you should be careful not to crank them down as hard as you can.

Feel free to call me if you need anything.

Did I red somewhere that a band adjustment is supposed to be part of the "Trans Service?

I agree that this was a very nice, practical write up! Thank you,

no band adjustments for the 545rfe transmission

I believe they don't even use bands anymore...?

I tried to edit my initial post for the write up of this service but can't:

Not that I have had any issues or anything, but after seeing that the member transengineer on this forum has said that aftermarket spin on trans filters may not have the proper drain back protection or something like that, I will from now on use mopar trans filters for this truck. Again, I haven't had issues with mine (prob over 10k miles), but just for precaution in the future I'll be using mopar spin on filters.
