Welcome to the forums!

When you get a chance stop by the newbie check in section and introduce yourself and post a few pics of your truck.

As far as the ticking I have yet to hear a mopar that doesnt. Its kind of a pushrod engine thing. Ill let the 4.7L guys step in from here, but its one of those things we just live with really

My '08 4.7 does this as well.....this is just one of those common issues.

Just for reference the 4.7L is not a pushrod engine, it is overhead cam. The ticking is somewhat common. The noise you hear comes from the lifters in the cylinder heads. Most people who have the ticking in their 4.7L's notice that after the engine is warm it no longer ticks (that's how mine is also). This is fairly normal with hydraulic lifters. Does your ticking remain constant at all times/temperatures? How many miles do you have?

I'm not extremely familiar with the lash adjustment for the overhead cam setup, but your lash might need adjusted. I think you have to put "spacers" under the lifters (between the lifter and head) to adjust them. There is a member on here that just rebuilt his whole engine including heads, he had a lifter bore failure or something...members name is superiorstyles....he may have more helpful info for you.

lol was hoping you could give some input to foxhuntr(if he wants it).

Sounds to me like lash adjustment but I think you'd have a better input...
