Looks really good! I still haven't decided which intake I'm going to get, this is a nice one though.

Niko, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the magnaflow catback? I found it for around $700 on autoanything... Also, is it an easy install or is it something I am bringing to a shop?

Does that hit the hood and how does it seal it looks like its on an angle. And as far as auto anything there prices are high id shop around you ever think about just getting the y and and a muffler basically the same thing and a whole lot cheaper.

slpintern - If you go to Discount Performance Exhaust, they have the cat back system for less than $500, around $500 with shipping. I love AutoAnything. Yes, their prices are high, but they will beat anybody's price. So just contact them and tell them where you found it cheaper and they will beat it.

And, NO, getting just the muffler and y-pipe is not the same thing. With the cat back system the exhaust tubes leaving the muffler are 2.5", stock are only2.25". So you have better airflow leaving the muffler, but not so big that you lose low end power. Then the exhaust tips on the cat back system are awesome, way bigger and better looking than stock. They actually fill up the space in our rear bumper. If you bought similar exhaust tips, they would run you over $200 for the tips alone.

I had it installed professionally. The y-pipe needs to be welded in. People on here say the cat back system is DIY, but I got a great install deal from an awesome shop in Denver. So I couldn't say no.

Trust me, and look up BlackRamHemi's posts on the subject. The MagnaFlow CatBack is worth the price. I paid less than $520 for the CatBack and y-pipe with shipping from AutoAnything. It is worth it for looks alone. But the performance improvements are awesome. Better power, sound, and mpg.

Niko, I appreciate the info. I installed the aFe stage two last night, I had some fit issues but was able to overcome. I am looking around for the magnaflow catback but haven't decided if thats what I want. Have you dyno'd the performance gains or calculated the mpg gain or loss since your install of both intake and exhaust?

I think the thing that is holding me up the most is the fact it comes with a 22" muffler and I was hoping for the 18" from magnaflow...is the 22" louder than stock at all?

Last question, and I really do appreciate all the guidance so far, when I go to buy a y-pipe there are many choices in sizes of inlet and outlet, which do I choose or how do I find out which to choose? I will definitely be getting a y-pipe no matter if I get a full system or not, but leaning to the magnaflow catback.

I haven't had it dyno'd, but my by the seat of my pants testing definitely tells me it has more hp. When I get on it, she leaves everyone else behind. As far as mpg, before everything, I was getting around 12 to 12.5 around town. Now I am getting around 14.5 to 15mpg and for some reason I am driving it a little more aggressive lately.

The correct MagnaFlow Y-Pipe for our truck is #10778. It has 2.5in. Duals/3in. Single ends.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am not an expert like some of the others on here. But I try to help when I can.

Also, with the CatBack system, it gets rid of the resonators. So the 22" CatBack system sounds very similar to an 18" muffler with the stock resonators on. It is most definitely louder that stock. The first time I started it up with the new set up, it scared my 4 year old. He loves the sound of it now though. Sound nice at normal driving, but definitely hear it at WOT.

With the newer air box is it really necessary to get a whole CAI system? I had Volants on my last 2 Rams and the new box seems pretty close to them with the addition of the tube into the fender. I thought just dropping in a K&n would do just fine. How do the Magna Flows perform pulling a trailer? I had duals on my '03 coming out the back and on long rides I got tired of the noise bouncing back off the trailer. After making some calls I settled on a Gigson single coming out the side and it was a gain in performance and lack of noise. Just wanted to mention it was a different brand duals.
