Default Bringing my Chrome rims back to life

I got a question for you guys. I just bought a 2004 dodge ram hemi big horn edition. It has the chrome 20s but looks like they werent taken care. The shine on them look very dull. Almost like polished aluminum. Anyone know of a good polish I can use to get the chrome to look better.

I'm not an expert on detailing or anything but I've found a product called "neverdull" or "nevrdull" or something like that to work very well with chrome and polished aluminum. I don't know that it would bring back a faded surface though...

Are they polished Aluminum or Chrome Clads?
Both were options back in 04' and I had Polished Alum 20's on my 04 QC
almost any alum polish kit will bring them back to life.
But dont use it on a CC wheel, it says so right in the owners manual.

I wish my 10' (with CC's) were available in polished aluminum
...the plastic chrome barely lasted one winter and is cracked and peeling and they refused to replace them under warranty.

Going to Plasti-Dip them Black this Winter

Why not pull the cladding off? I've seen pics of others and they are nice wheels underneath, unlike the previous generation CC's. Could powder coat them, or polish them up.... just an idea...

I know, I just posted this in the Tire/Wheel section just the other day:

it's not all that hideous looking underneath and can be polished up easily by removing the adhesive, there was another post cleaning pic, but I cant find the thread now.

Not that I could be bothered, but there is even an Ebay exchange that will de-clad and Chrome them for $800 (for set of 4)

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-20-Dodge-...item43a9c83145

My CC's started cracking and peeling/rusting after one winter, even though I washed them weekly...
Warranty claim denied!

WARNING!!! New owners with The Sport CC's should Watch these corners Carefully! if you live in an harsh Winter climate area that puts salt or chemicals on the roads to melt the ice!

They are getting Plasti Dip'd Black this Winter
If I knew the CC quality was so Poor I would have PD's them last Fall and just peeled it off again in the Spring

Yes you can do that with Plasti-Dip, its not really paint...just a vinyl rubber spray on coating that requires no pre prep other than an alcohol wipe.

I'll keep my rusted 20's as my Winter set with my 305/50R20 Terra Grapplers mounted.

Next Spring (with any luck) I'll be running Nitto NT420S for Summer tires on 22" R/T Alcoa's

Here's my old 04' QC Sport, with the polished 20's (not CC's)

I bought it and the new bike in the same week back in 04'
Those Wheels were Awesome for the entire 4 years I had them!

Yup, It's my primary Summer commuter when its too expensive to fill the Ram with 94 octane

Updated pics (with a few mod's) and a couple with the new Ram

To get a little back on topic, I swapped out the stock spoke wheels on the Bike for cast Aluminum Wheels too (and Avon Venom tires)
Gave them a darn good hand Polishing with Mother's Aluminum wheel polish and they came out looking like Chrome
