Thanks for posting this pic, I have been thinking about doing the rims, Since it will peal right off if I dont like it, one plus over painting them. I think I will give it a go after seeing this pic. I need a new can or two tho!

No, I did not remove the tailgate. I taped one layer by sliding the tape underneath it and then laid newspaper over the emblem. I then cut around the emblem as close as possible and then taped over the paper again. I probably should have papered more as there was some over spray. The clay bar removed it with no problem. Hope that helps..

Ok thanks, I figured tape/newpaper the area really good. Glad to hear the clay bar took it right off, I saw a youtube where they sprayed the hood of a new car and took it to a show and they didnt want the hood to get chipped so when it got back they just peeled it all off, pretty cool stuff. I sprayed some on another emblem I had and it just peeled right off after a week of being on "if you want to remove the stuff" and if you dont the front has held up to the pressure washer looks like the day I did it!

I've been looking at the different billet plates to swap, but I just don't have the coin for it, so I decided to get my tape and plastidip out of storage.
What do y'all think?

It would look best with 2 coats of metalizer and gloss to take it a gun metal

Don't need to clay to get the over spray off... Just rub it with a microfiber cloth. Comes right off.

I did the same plasti-dip on my truck, so far it's holding up remarkably well. I take her off roading, I travel gravel roads, lots of highway driving, and it looks the same as day one. It is a tad high maintenance if you're the "my truck must be clean" type though.

My first Plastidip project!
I did have a few peel backs so I cut them out and touched them up.

VERY cool! Always liked the clean de-badged look and this is above & beyond - nice work.
