They need three techs to look at it for a day and if its confirmed they will replace the tq. converter. I see a TSB coming soon. Figured I'd just let you guys know. There is light at the end of the tunnel! P.s. if you trying to produce the noise for a tech, put it in tow mode. The sound is alot worse and produces for a longer time.
Thats insane about 3 techs needing to look at it.
I reported the problem to my delaer, told him what I thought the problem was and to see if the TSB for the shift points would fix it, they did the flash, noise was still there.
Next day after work, I took one of the mechanics out in the truck, and had him listen, I then gave him a complete breakdown of the rpms and speed when most prevelant.
Following day they picked up the truck from my work, and returned a couple hours later and told me a new converter was on order, i called the service manager and set up a day for them to complete the work.
Following week, 09/21 work was started and truck picked up following day 09/22, noise is gone, shift points are firmer and truck runs even better than before.
Torque converter was bad.
