I guess if I push hard enough it spins about 3 inches back and forth. The emergency brake wire that runs across the rear axle is slightly melted, side effect of when my exhaust fell off.

maybe my e-brake is slightly dragging? Any idea how to adjust it?

So you can not spin the rear wheels while off the ground, with the parking brake(not e brake lol) off, and in neutral? Then yes something is wrong, it should spin freely. Sounds like you may need a new parking brake cable or something.

The 3" exhaust will not hurt anything. Any bigger would not be recommended though.

lol. check the fronts too. check all four corners and if they are all spinning free that eliminates any drag from brakes/bearings...

is there a way to do a compression check? I know with the diesels you can hook a computer up to the injector to see if its flowing good. Wondering if there is any easy way other than pulling the plugs.

Gotta pull a plug on each cylinder to check compression...

I think it'd only throw a code if there was a bad coil/plug not firing/misfire situation. How many miles did you say it has? It may just need a tune up....bad plugs could cause poor running conditions...do you know of it's maintenance history?
