Default exhaust questions?

I have a 2001 Ram Sport 1500 and want to do dual exhaust out the back angeld, I was thinking of goinf with flowmaster 40 series mufflers and magnaflow tips. my ? is what is the inlet size I'd need for the tips? and also does anyone else have any suggestions on exhuast? videos possibly?
I attached a pic of my truck since I've yet to change my profile pic lol

Flowmaster 40's sound good on a 360. Having a true dual system (which you may not have now) means two mufflers, two mid-pipes, maybe new O2 sensors (but you have 4 now and a good shop can reuse these), a crossover or X-pipe, two tailpipes.

The size of the tip inlet is determined by what size tailpipe you go with. If you go true dual, keep the tailpipes to 2.75" OD or less. You can go with a 3 or 4 inch tip easily enough with a short reducer.

There's quite a few 360 with exhaust mod vids here.

Your other option is a Flowmaster 40 single in/dual out muffler. You won't need the crossover or the mids. But I do suggest you look at your Y-pipe and see if it needs to be replaced. The muffler inlet size will be driven by your stock pipe size. The outlet size can be whatever you want at the muffler will provide the right amount of backpressure and you won't lose any low end torque.

I was going to do a Y pipe I forgot to mention that I also failed to mention I will not do straight pipes a friend keeps urging me to get them and I refuse. That said I was going to do a y pipe and 2 mufflers or do I do one muffler? I was going to do 3 inch tips

Here's a link to a thread about my exhaust. It's a single in, dual outFlowmaster Super 40. Similar to what your looking at. In the thread is a link to a video of my truck with the exhaust.

Hope this helps,
