Default Electric water pump found

Ok guys, so I've been on a performance searching frenzy and came across this little piece of information.

Any thoughts?

EWP's are often used in drag racing applications to let the engine get more power to the wheels(less parasitic loss), same concept as electric fan vs mechanical fan. Probably not worth the money IMO but it could be a good mod. There would be little benefit to cooling though, their statement is a bit misleading, although the WP will spin faster at higher rpm, the thermostat ultimately controls how much flow there is... Another good side effect of an EWP is that even when the engine is off the engine can continue to cool as you can still have the pump running and the efan running...

Keep in mind you'd have to figure out a way to block the origninal mechanical water pump's opening to the block (could maybe just leave it but remove the fins to make in more like an idler pulley....)

AT work we ran a test on the dyno with an EWP and found that it creates hotspots on the block. While for drag cars they work because the car is on for 30 seconds or less, the riggors of everyday street driving are fairly dangerious as far as creating enough heat to potentially distort bores.

While there are people that swear by tier street driven EWP, i wouldnt put one on my street car, just my race car. You could always run a remote moroso pump with block fittings and stainless lines if you were dead set on an EWP
