Default I need a little help.

Hay gang,

I have a small leak on the hard line that goes from the trans to the cooler. The leak is located right above the steering rack. I'm very far away from home, and will fix it properly when I get home, but for now, I was wondering if anyone knows what size the hard line is? Looks like maybe 1/4 or 3/8" or is is maybe metric?
I want to get a coupling or some other kind of temp clamp to put on for now until I can get a new line.

Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to add, it's a 2003 4.7, with the auto trans. Thanks!

Why not use a high heat expoxy or JB Weld to seal it up. That stuff works great! I was far away from home and had to seal up a crack on the waterpump of my '65 Chev pickup. Worked like a charm.

I did use some JB weld today. It was still leaking around it a bit so, after the JB weld firmed up a bit, I put some hose clamps on the epoxy to tighten it in the crack some. If nothing else, that should get me home when ever I head south. I'm in Gainsville, Texas right now.
As a guess, I would say that these lines aren't steel like on older trucks, as from what I can figure, when I had the engine replaced, they used a wire tie/tie wrap to hold the lines over towards the frame and the rack power steering lines. Over time (all these gravel roads haven't helped, lol) the plastic tie wrap has worn away the hard line. Gonna guess they are aluminum now. I can get compression couplings, and have used them in the past, but I just don't know what size these hard lines are, and don't want to cut it to put a coupling in until I do.
If all else fails, I have a roll of duct tape in the toolbox!
