I think the TBSS's are a little faster but not by much. Make sure you get a 2011 model because they come with the 22's but as of now no tuners are available yet. The R/T is quick for a truck but I think it's a dog after 60 MPH. What color you looking at?

thanks for your response, i dont want to be disappointed with the trucks performance. its hard to find something in the truck/suv now that has any kind of strong performance, dont really know what to get. i was looking at red. i guess im going to have to look into some perf. cars. i appreciate your input, as you have saved me alot of time and aggravation !!

The 2009 and 2010 have tuning but come with the regular sport 20s. The 2011 and 2012 have no tuning but come with the forged 22s(about $1300 a piece from dealer). The fastest stock R/T ran a 13.7 in 0 DA which was the 2009 model

I don't know man. Below is a video I found on youtube. The problem is that they are using a stock hemi truck (non-R/T). The R/T will have better gears, and be much "snappier" than the truck they have. Also, beware that when they do pulls up to 120mph... the stock Ram is limited around 105. So, that's an unfair comparison to begin with. I think a mildly modified R/T (intake, exhaust, programmer... "The Big 3") would easily take a Trailblazer SS. AndI believe there has been one company break the new Ram codes, so a tuner will be available very soon. Stangall, have you personally raced a TB-SS?

I will say though, if you are comparing new high performance cars to trucks, then you are comparing apples to oranges in a sense, and need to figure out whether you want a car or truck first. If it's a performance truck you are looking for, you better go with an R/T, because good luck trying to get any Ford, Chevy, Yota, or Nissan in the same price range to go as fast, not going to happen. Yeah, you can build them to go faster, but for an "out of the box" truck with mild performance enhancements, other's can't compare.

Don't be so quick to say that formergorilla. The 5.0 and ecoboost f150 are close to R/T times

I'm no drag racing expert, but if I saw it for myself I would gladly retract my statement. I think gears make the biggest difference for the most part. Like Toyota, for half ton trucks, I think they have their crap together when it comes to gearing, but lack in other areas. I think ram needs to disect a tundra's tranny and rear-end. Couple a better tranny and gear-matched rear-end and the new Ram would be bulletproof.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no hardcore "ram head", I loved my 98 f150 prior to my ram. If I get shown up by another brand in any way I admit it.

OP here's my truck doing a 0-105 run with a little over 1,000 miles on the truck and this is in no way my best 0-105 run, just the only one on tape;

Didn't mean to step on any toes or anything. But ford seems to have a pretty potent setup with the 5.0 and ecoboost that many weren't expecting but the ram is more potent. Depending on driver it could go either way but with same skilled drivers the ram would beat the f150. And I think dodge is even with the new tundra. Many cases it's a drivers race and I personally have beat a rcsb 5.7
