That's a good idea. I still use the ol' tennis ball hanging from a string. When my windshield makes contact with the tennis ball, we stop.

My dads 11 qc barely fit under the door in my brothers garage. Luckily when he built our garage, my dad had lifted trucks in mind.
Good luck with the new truck!

I have been able to back mine into our garage on an angle and it does fit, http://www.ramforumz.com/attachment....0&d=1275403981

It is a tight fit with the door to the house unusable however it keeps my RAM safe at night.

That's the Idea, Good Job Make it fit at all cost. Keep that baby out of the cold. I heard rumors that winters in Canada can be a little tough.

It is good to hear that others have the same issue as I, big truck in a small garage.

I use some blocks for my wheels. When I hit them, I have just enough room to walk around the front of the truck.

When open, my garage door is a scant 2" above the roof of the truck. I actually painted my guide rails for the garage door to indicate a minimum safe clearance level, and look at that when I am entering/leaving the garage, just to make sure the door opened all the way.

A couple of inches on each side of the mirrors at the doorway, and yes, a tight fit.

Had this issue with my old truck, had to disconnect the door from the opener, and jamb a 2x4 against the door to push it up another little bit to gain another inch or two, otherwise the roof of the truck would scrape the bottom of the door...it was a PITA to do everyday.

I remember way back in 1973 when my family bought a new station wagon. At least the older of us here probably remember those years when they first implemented the 5 mph bumper standard, and all of the cars had those dorky bumpers hanging so far out.

Anyway, the car was about 2" too long for our older garage, so we actually cut out the drywall in front and removed some of the studs, replacing them with 2x's in the other direction to add the couple of inches. He then put in some wood curbs anchored to the floor to stop the front tires at exactly the right spot.

When it was all the way in, there was maybe a half inch clearance at most as the door past the rear bumber, but it DID fit. As kids, it was even easy to just walk across on that big honkin rear bumber if we needed to get to the other side of the garage with the door closed.

Mine fits but I don't think I would want my wife to put it in.......
