Default Creaking sound in center shift console

I have a 2011 ram rt and the center console with the shift creaks and pops when I'm driving on bumpy roads. When I first got the truck it was very bad then I pressed really hard and popped it down. But it still creaks like I said. Any thoughts?

FWIW I have the same issues. It seems to be worse when the air temp is colder and as the cab warms up it quiets down. I assume it's the plastics rubbing together when they expand and contract. All I do is grab the dash and push, pull, or pound to stop a squeak.

I love my truck but Dodge could sure take a lesson in fit and finish...

I have heard of this issue, I had to replace my radio surround when I first bought my truck, and there was a tech tip about replacing this section for noise issues, it stated to loosen the center console and pull it back as far as possible, it should only move at most an 1/8th of an inch and that should fix it, I also noticed that there was clear protective tape on the new radio surround where it meets the center console that was not on the original parts, I will verify the tech tip tomorrow with my parts guys. Hope this helps

Mine does it too. Just turn up the radio.

This must be a very common issue, I just bought my truck a few weeks ago and have about 1K on it, and I have it too. I asked the dealer and they say its settling.....hmm weird answer. (its not a house! geez)

So anyway, I had an idea, my wifes car, a lexus had the same issue, and the dealer used some sort of felt tape (looks squishy and black) and lined the console with it, and trimmed the excess off, (ill try to take some pictures of it), but it did the trick, and i think i am going to do that on the console in the truck.

What do you guys think?
