I wouldn't worry about it it should be fine, just don't do it anymore. There is an EVAP canister with charcoal in it and it is not good to soak it with fuel like someone said above ^. I wouldn't siphon either as there is a block in the line to prevent people from siphoning/stealing your fuel in new vehicles and if you really try to do it you could possibly damage the filler neck. Maybe go drive about 20 miles, do some burnouts, and burn up a gallon or two haha.

Thanks Sean. I'm gonna make a special 40 trip right now to burn off 2 gallons. It's worth wasting the 2 gallons to prevent some kinda damage.

See, this is why I appreciate these forums. It keeps meatheads like me from screwing up to bad.

Thanks again,

Don (genesis)

It's all good we all do dumb stuff haha. A week after I bought my buell I forgot to tighten down the battery terminals(were only snugged as we replaced the battery upon pickup and had no tools) and when I started it with the terminals loose it started sputtering and backfiring and did weird stuff with the electrical system and fried some of the sensors...doh! ...at least your screw up didn't cost you any money(parts from a harley dealer are EXPENSIVE haha)

I know way back when it was normal to top off the tank before fuel injection and all the new emissions stuff.
