I noticed my front brakes were getting a bit weak. Last time I checked, I had about 20% pad left on the front. The rear pads looked brand new. I think the brake bias is wayyy too heavy on the front on a LOT of vehicles...what are these twits at Dodge thinking, anyway?
Anyway (rant over) ... I figured I was pretty close to no pads in the front so I dropped it off at my buddy's shop for pads, turn the rotors and system flush/refill.
About an hour later, he calls me and tells me that the slide pins/pistons in the calipers are corroded, some don't work and the pads have worn very unevenly.
oh no...not again...had this happen to me on another vehicle...
Told him that he should do what needs to be done and I'll bring a bag of gold with me when he's done.
Well, $342.25 later, I have new pads, new front calipers, turned rotors, sytem flushed and (given with a substantial discount) a new set of braided stainless steel lines, front and rear!
Even though I'm ticked about the calipers (not my buddy's fault), it all worked out pretty good. Pedal feel is great! Gotta go bed the pads tonight.
