Hey everyone its been 2 months since my 2011 ram was rear ended by a taxi. The damage to the ram was $14,000 and I fought with the taxis insurance and they wouldn't total out the truck. So Dodge ordered a whole new frame, bed, tailgate, front and rear bumper, new exhaust, spare tire, grille, and all the brackets and hardware. They swapped everything over from the bent frame to the new one and started to rebuild the truck. They painted the new bed and everything and I am now waiting until tomorrow or Tuesday to finally see how it looks. Considering everything is OEM mopar parts and everything I am still worried about how its going to drive and how the new painted parts will match my cab. Also I spoke to the sales manager to see about trading it in on a 2012 and they are only willing to give me $13,000 for a 11,000 mile truck! I said what if it was never wrecked and they said $20,000. So I lost $7,000 in value because of this accident. Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do and also the process that they used to build my truck? AS far as I know they didnt blend the paint into the cab, should I fight to have the whole truck repainted? Thanks everyone

You should be able to get a diminished value claim from the taxis insurance.

How fast were they going to mess up the frame? My friend got rearended by a malibu going 60 while she was stopped in her 05 ram and only damage was the back bumper and the bed moved forward a little bit. And guessing they pushed you into a car hence the grille?

Hey everyone its been a while since I have been on the forums but I wanted to give an update on my truck. It was at dodge for about 3 months getting completely rebuilt. They ordered all brand new parts along with a frame, new bed, and bumpers. The whole truck was repainted and put back together. I was a little worried about this but overall they did a great job and I have not had any problems. It drives and looks like brand new again. I haven't done any mods since I got it back but now I just ordered the ground force 2 and 3 drop, hellwig sway bars and a bakflip g2 since my current cover got broken into. I am going to be installing everything this week so I will have pictures up soon.
The next few mods after that are
4:10 gearing
circle D torque convertor
jba headers
magnaflow cats
electric fan kit
upgrade thermostat
custom badges
custom leather and suede seat covers
JL audio system
Baer brake kit

I filed a diminished value claim with them and I was able to get a good amount of money back. Im going to use that money for the mods. I was going to sell the truck and get another express or R/T but I would have taken a huge loss on mine and the dealership wouldnt swap out my parts so I just figured I would keep it and continue modding it. They did do a really nice job on the truck and everything is brand new. Ill post pics soon.

Pictures will be coming soon of the upated mods that I have done to my truck. I installed a ground force 2 and 3 drop with a set of helwig sway bars. Anyone else that has done the ground force kit knows that you have to drill holes in the frame to relocate the sway bar end links a little higher. I took my stock end links and cut them shorter and welded them together. It seems to work really well and no holes in the frame! I also installed a bakflip G2 because someone decided to cut my access bed cover during the night. Next is a circle D torque convertor and 4:10 gearing from an R/T. Overall these mods have made a huge difference in the performance of the truck. I am now a few steps closer to having an R/T and maybe even faster! I have also removed the hemi badge on the fenders and have put new Hemi badges on the hood. About 9 months ago I installed Notto 15000k hid kits in my headlihgts and fog lights and I have had alot of problems with them. I ordered a new set of 6,000k hids so I can see better at night. I hope the 6,000k are alot brighter because im thinking I should have ordered 4300K? Anyone have experience with 6000k or 4300k? My next set of mods will be a leather interior and possible R/T center console and painting the dash. Still a work in progress and I hope a tuner comes out soon!!

Good luck with the build. Shitty about accident, but sounds like you did alright and are building what you want. Good on ya.

Hey guys I am over here looking at the 2011 thread and found this about the R/T clone.
This is what I am in the prossess of doing to my 2012 Express. It came with the R/T hood already so I thought why not. I did not get ther R/T because I need a four door truck.
As far as everyone giving you grief about a clone, tell them to kiss your a**.
Sorry to hear about the wreck Tony. Your truck looked great Hope you can it get back like it was.
I have always wanted a T/A Challenger but who can pay the price for a real one. So I bought a 2010 Base 6 cyl Challenger and made my own T/A. I think it looks great and gets all the looks of a real one. Then when the truck I bought had the R/T hood I went for it. I have added the emblems and am looking at replacing the headlight for the R/T type. I also wanted to add a 70s style R/T stripe to it. Here is what I have came up with so far. I will extend the stripe onto the bed later.

my wifes Challenger

They maybe posers but they still get the looks.

harleydodge1 nice work on the ram and the challenger, they both look really good. I have the truck back to brand new condition and I am very happy how it turned out. I will be uploading some new pictures in a few minutes.
