By law, a dealership can't void a warranty due to any after market parts, however, they will jot replace the after market parts. I.E. If you were to put a 6 inch lift kit on your truck and 35 inch tires, and say somewhere down the road before your 100k miles is up, your suspension wears out, they will not replace it. But if you have the lift and tires and say your transmission goes bad because of it, or your driveshaft breaks because of it, they will replace it as long as the part that is broken is covered under warranty and its not an after market part. In other words, they will replace anything that is covered under your warranty as long as itw not an aftermarket part, even if something has worn out due to other after market parts. Hope this makes sense and helps.

Correct- the dealer has to make a direct correlation between the failed component and the aftermarket part.

Sevice per the Owners Manual and keed records. This is good.

Just MHO but, in the example given by DandD05 above, I think the dealer would blame the lift and tires for the failure of the trans or driveshaft and not cover it. (goes bad BECAUSE of it -- worn out DO TO). A lift can add strain, because of the change of angles, to U-joints, trans and/or dif, bearings, suspension parts, ect. An engine tuner would not effect brake coverage but would be a problem with the engine warranty.

In general, again IMHO, if the mod CAN lead to the failure, no warranty coverage.

As long as the aftermarket part does not cause the defect, it will be warrantied.
