The code for your head unit is on the face of the radio
lower right hand corner, you will see 3 letters, like

RER, REQ, RES, REN, RHR, RBZ

As to the kind of Audio/Alarm shop that i use, in my area there is a shop that does almost all of the Classic Vehicle Sound Systems, they also do both audio & alarm systems in Semi trucks, party boats, motorcycles, & even brand new vehicles.
They even have a guy that does fiberglass housings

Thanks guys for all the advice, I'm damn sure staying away from BB. I know I have the Alpine system with (I believe) 9 speakers. I'm guessing I could simply upgrade the AMP and be good to go....

I have a 2010 Laramie with the same radio. The stock speakers are single cone pieces of junk - couldn't believe how bad they were when i took them out.

For very little money I made a couple of huge upgrades to the sound quality. First I replaced the dash speakers with a pair of coaxial Polk 3 1/2" speakers. Next replaced the 6" x 9" rear door speakers with a pair of Infinity coaxial.

Don't bother with the front door speakers unless you are changing out the head unit because the factory radio has a crossover that cuts out all the high frequencies to them.

My total cost was $145 - replaced speaker myself took about 1 1/2 hours & improvement was huge.

Well I let BestBuy install my remote start which took all day and then I look and there is solder melted into my floor mats. I told them they will replace them at cost which was 80 bucks.
The only reason they did the install was that my brother bought it for me at a big discount. I would never ask them to do work on my truck again.

My 07 texas edition sound system sux but have no clue what I have. Will post radio specs and hope someone knows.

rinkerman, was it a challenge to change out the dash speakers and read door speakers? definitely wanna change out the rear door speakers and dash speakers. I'm thinking of going with Infinity or Boston Acoustics? Any advice on brand?

I would highly recommend adding an amp, swapping the door speakers, and if you want, add a sub. This alone will net you a much better sound quality for easily under $2000. A decent 5- or 6-channel amp running your door speakers and the sub, leaving the stock amp to power the stock dash speakers and tweeters.

If you're looking for sound quality, I'd lean towards the BAs, or get a mid-top end set of the Infinity like the Kappa.

I'm a personal fan of JL for their clarity and a decent price, there's lot of others out there, but I have been VERY happy with the old C2, and now the C3s and C5s I have in the truck.
