I tend to agree with you but the only leg I can see them standing on is that chuggin down the highway doing 70-80mph with them mirrors folded out probably catch some wind

My 2011 Laramie came with the towing mirrors with the puddle lights. I don't have the blinkers in there... But the rest is the same, memory/heated etc.

My first post on Ramforumz!

I would like to know if the mirrors you mentioned were eventually successfully installed on your 2011 Dodge 1500 Laramie?

I recently purchased a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn and would like to install these upgraded mirrors on my truck, not only to improve visibility when towing, but during regular driving as well.

I really like that they do it all, extend, flip up, are heated, electric, and have the puddle lights and blinkers.

Thanks,

Jeff

Snowracer,
I concur with the other who have said that there is no modification to the door necessary. That was a service advisor making extra coin. The doors and mirrors are Identical from 1500-4500 Rams. That being said, I have the chrome T-tow mirrors with signals and puddle lamps, power and heat on my 2500 and they are so damn big, I have to get out an fold/unfold the passenger mirror to get into my garage. If your mirrors are the chrome power/heated/signal non-tow mirror, I'd be interested in a trade. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks Commando,

All of a sudden I am a bit scared, as I didn't realize there was a chrome power/heated/signal non-tow version of these mirrors, or I might have ordered them, as my new trailer is only 6 feet wide. Do you know the part numbers for these upgraded non towing chrome power/heated/signal mirrors?

Unfortunately all I have on my truck are the stock, black, heated/electric mirrors, so I dont have the ones you would need.

Thanks,

Jeff

No worries Jeff, another member on here may be interested in a trade, but I cannot answer his PM, apparently I don't have enough posts. So much for just being a lurker.
As far as the available mirrors, I believe there are only two towing versions: chrome is available on the Laramie and longhorn, black is on the WT and slt. There may also be a non-power black version.

Well if you don't have enough posts then I guess I can post here too! Yes it was me who was interested in a trade for tow mirrors. I am after the chrome/power/heated tow mirrors. My truck has the "standard" chrome/power/heated mirrors.

Art, I'm trying to pad my post count...as we speak.
I just started a thread asking anyone to measure how far out the mirrors like what you have protrude. Could you oblige? That will tell me if swapping will allow me to get into and out of my garage without getting out to fold/unfold the passenger mirror.

Yes. Unfolded they are roughly 13" from the truck. Folded they are roughly 5" from the truck. I measured as close to the truck and then measured the point that looked furthest away so these measurements are as far out of the mirrors go from the truck itself.
