Default What cleaning products do you use?

Hi, I am some what new to the forums. I've been around a while reading but never actually signed up. I just picked up my '11 Sport on the weekend (Pics below) and I was curious what you guys are using to clean the exterior? products, procedures etc. I have the paint protection done and I was told I wouldn't need to wax. Also, what product are you using on the dash and seats (Leather)?

Nice ride! I use the "Blue Coral" car wash and wax if I'm doing by hand. You can get it pretty much anywhere. Mine is red with the sport hood and crew cab. What are the tires you have on there, I like 'em!

You might want to go to the General Maintance section, and the Washing and Wax section. I think all the information you are asking for is in those sections.
Nice truck!!!!

Sweet truck man, what do you have on there for a lift? As far as the paint protection goes, if it's the one the dealer sold you it will last maybe a few months ("you don't have to wax" is what the dealer in Calgary told me when I bought my truck, this is simply not true). If you had one done at a specialty car care business I would expect slightly better results. At least a car car business specializes in that type of thing, the dealer will usually overcharge you and it will be hastily applied by the lot guy who washes cars.
Once again dude, sick truck! I need to know some details on your lift, also what size tires you are running?

That is a super nice truck. I am a collision repair instructor so I know a thing or two about getting and keeping your paint and interior in tip top shape. The one thing that you want to do is to use a mild car wash soap on the exterior of the vehicle, never use a dish detergent or any thing that is too aggressive. Harsh detergents will actually strip all of the waxes and protection from the surface of the paint.
I have been using the turtle wax Ice line. It is in a blue bottle and is a synthetic wax. Get the one that you spray on and then wipe off. It last for a really long time and is very easy to apply. You can actually use it on the entire truck, I do my glass, black trim, wheels, every square inch. It make the wheels super easy to clean and even takes the bug guts off that I miss when I wash it. It is so easy to use, I use it every time I wash my truck. It is almost like cheating. You can never wax a vehicle too much. The more protection you have on the paint, the better. Always use a micro fiber or detail cloth to apply wax to the surface.
They also make a synthetic Ice interior cleaner that I use as well. It gives you the factory shine and is not greasy at all. And you can use this on leather.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions related to paint and body, feel free to ask.

I would wash it, clay bar it and then start layering Zaino Z2 on it. On the interior, just a soft cloth and water.

Thanks for all the info. I will check out the General Maintenance section, I didn't know there was one!

As for the truck, it has a 4" Mopar lift done at the dealer, 35" General Tire Grabber tires on stock rims. Only mods as of right now. Window Tint is next!

Hey I tried to PM you but don't have enough posts to be able to do so. Just curious which dealership did the lift for you, dealers in Calgary have been evasive when I asked about the Mopar Lift Kit, a few have told me it doesn't exist! What did it end up costing you, and how do you find the ride compared to stock - obviously will be much different but do you find it overly harsh?
Sorry for all the questions, but I have the exact same truck in black and want to lift or level it, but have read about a lot of issues with leveling kits. I'm thinking maybe the lift is a better way to go. Your truck is one of the nicest Rams that I have seen on this forum.

So you are aware, the Paint Protection is basically $1 worth of paint sealant applied to the vehicle. And since it is a sealant, you can apply wax over it anyways. Maintain it like you would a new or old finish.
