Default Performance

Just looking for some advice. As we all know our Daytona's come with an exhaust system and cai... what would you suggest for a performance chip? I have been trying to do some reasearch about the idea, but most people keep talking about specific chips themselves, or systems. How would one find out the best setup for our specific trim?

James

As for a tuner I'd recommend either diablo sport or superchips, they are about the best. Performance gains will be similar for both, the deciding factor should probably be whether you want more transmission control(superchips) or if you want more custom tuning control for future mods like a cam, longtubes, etc...(diablo). To find out specifically....superchips lists their hp and tq gains on their site, I think diablo also does...

I'd stay away from "chips". Get a good tuner/programmer, they are different. A chip merely tricks a sensor, a tuner reprograms your ecm...

Thanks for the help, There's an aftermarket shop the guys around here work out of and they got the Dyno and are Diablo sport sponsored. I'll see what they cost an all the goods. I appreciate your help once again. I'm slowly trying to learn all about performance mods and body, lights, and all the works.

James.

Welcome.

Do you have a pic of your CAI by chance? Always assumed they were the same as the other trims.

Do you plan to do other future extensive mods like a cam, headwork, longtube headers, etc....? If you do I'd highly suggest getting a diablo sport tuner. If you will be doing less mods, and mainly bolt on stuff, the superchips gives you more transmission stuff so I'd recommend that.....however if you know a diablo sponsored place that may be the way to go....I know one of the reasons I went with superchips is because they are only 30 minutes away from me and I know some guys there.

Kay - I'll take a pic tomorrow after I get outta work.

Sean - I'm kinda new at all this stuff so I couldnt tell you. I wanna go in depth eventually. I don't plan on getting rid of my truck, just keep improving her.

Gotcha. If you're really serious about performance and want to go that route, you'd probably prefer the diablo as down the road you would need custom tuning. I have the superchips and love it on my 4.7L but I am doing bolt ons only (no cams, long tube headers, head work, etc....) so it fits my plan...

Best advice would be to do a lot of research before you buy any part/do any mod and you'll be good

I would like to see this as well. Mine came with the same stock air box as every other hemi.
If you aren't the original owner the person before you probably added it. If you bought it new the dealer may have installed it just to give it more of a performance look.

Good to see another Daytona not so far from me here in CT. I may start exploring the superchip idea...have no clue where to begin...so Search will be my friend here.
Hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am!!!!
