Really? When I was shopping back in Feb. All the quads I saw folded forward to create a cargo storage area.

My 11 Laramie has the folding seats its good feature plus the storage underneath. However my old 07 had a bigger quad cab for room then the 11. But who cares Laramie is awesome and only matters if ur riding back there.

Default 2011 Laramie LongHorn

I have a Crew Cab Laramie edition. The back seats each have a leather strap on the upper seat in the middle but I cannot figure out how to fold them down... any help would be appreciated. Love the truck... wish I had gotten the storage sides on the back of mine though.

You can't, that strap does nothing

Yea, mine only folds up! The seat back does not fold down. Wish it did though!

OK here's the difference.

The Crew Cabs; only the bottoms fold up and expose the storage holds. You can purchase off eBay the shelf guys are talking about, but you loose the storage hold lids. The shelf that folds up becomes the lid for those storage holds.

Mega Cabs; the rear seat does fold forward and the rear panel has hooks for those plastic grocery bags. Don't know about what material covers the back of the seat so that you can place items on that surface.

I've seen mods for the Crew Cab where the guys have cut off some of hook that holds the seat in place to the back wall. There was a thread on it. Saw it a few months ago. The guy provided pics and directions to do the mod. What I don't know is how the seat reacts... does it want to come forward everytime you hit the brakes? Ect... something to think about.

Watch closely as you fold the seat up and you'll find that the seat back also shifts up along the back wall of the cab. The modification to the clips only shortens them (they are c-clip style with the opening at the top) and this allows the seat to disengage when the seat back shifts up the cab wall. When the seat is folded down (as if a passenger was to use it) everything is engaged as it should be.

I think those straps are for child safety seats. The manual is extremely unclear.

I tell ya...I love this fold flat floor option that came with my quad cab. For the longest time I was aiming to get a crew cab because I wanted the space back there for my kids, but couldn't find hardly any Sport crews in my area without driving a couple hundred miles.

For those who have kids in booster seat, my salesman (who also has toddlers and a Ram Quad Cab) lifted up the seat and pulled out the fold flat floor. Confused why he was doing this, he said "watch...let me show you something." Placed the kids high back booster seats once we put the seat back down, and then watched them climb up this massive truck. Since my Sport came with the step bars I was pleasantly surprised to watch my toddler anxiously climb into daddy's new truck not only by themselves, but were able to climb in their seat with ease. The fold flat floor not only provided a mini platform for them to step up and sit in there booster seat, but their feet weren't dangling while sitting in the seat. It was then that I quickly got past not getting the crew cab. Kudos to the Ram Truck designers...very cool.

Anyone thinking about doing this mod for their crew cab, another bonus if you have small kids.
