Default Can it be timed?

Question on the timing 1997 360 V-8.
I am new to the electronic ignition/fuel injected motors ( I am a seasoned Carburated Chevy 350 guy )

Can I set the timing by turning the distributor ( old school style ) to get more power, better gas mileage...ect....

My old Chevy I would set the timing @ ? degrees BTDC and it would get better gas mileage, more power, sound better ( nice lope ) but that also included adjusting the carbs where I dont think I can adjust the fuel supply unless the computer will do that automatically??

Any input on this would be great as I am getting really crappy gas mileage ( oil changed, New cap/rotor/plugs/wires, cleaned throttle body and air filter )
Thanks

No, the distributor twist trick ended when the Magnum began, 1992 on the 5.2 and 1993 on the 5.9. You'll have to resort to an electronic tuner.

I haven't really done anything with tuners. As linked, you can get 3-4 degrees initial advance with the crank sensor mod. Beyond that you'd need a tuner. Sorry I just haven't used them.
